MetaPV is the world’s first project to show on a large scale and in historically grown distribution networks how photovoltaics can support the grid actively. It shows that intelligent control of photovoltaic inverters can increase the capacity of a network for hosting distributed generation by 50%. This is possible at less than 10% of the costs of classical grid reinforcement. The report provides caveats, guidelines and recommendations on how this can be done in practice.

Three smart programmable load and source (SPLS) modules suitable for both AC and DC applications were delivered. The three 33 kW SPLS modules is integrated in a more-electric aircraft test bench installed at Labinal Power (Safran). The test bench is used by aerospace companies to experiment with various electrical loads and sources and to test aircraft grid control and monitoring strategies.

On March 18th, 2014 the first 100% Electric Truck in Belgium was commissioned for operation. Triphase, E-Trucks Europe and Flander’s Drive have successfully fulfilled the development and operational requirements of this innovative concept. Triphase’s involvement include the supply, assembly and configuration an eV6-SKAI™ motor drive, an EVO AFM-240 PMSM motor and an eVSync™ enhanced gearbox control for electric motorization

A large scale unique energy storage test bed was realized at Newcastle University - storing energy from the local grid and testing innovative new technologies such as super-capacitors and long life, high performance batteries. Triphase provided all power interfaces, control units, communication busses and supercapacitor units

Profensto is a research project  with the objective of reducing the total cost of ownership of weaving looms, a prevalent and historic industry within Belgium, by adding energy storage components.  The Triphase equipment was key for demonstrating one of their electrical storage concepts.
